hot off the press from tabletop made.

November 22, 2011  /  Uncategorized

I seriously adore everything that Tabletop Made touches. Lucky me, they just released a slew of new card in their Etsy shop. The “You’re a Peach” card would be positively perfect for Kimberley, our east coast C&C rep. I’m particularly loving this postcard – I can think of at least a dozen people I want to send it to!

October 4, 2011  /  Uncategorized

I have an exciting giveaway to offer readers that are thinking about taking the leap into wholesale trade show exhibition! Tradeshow Bootcamp is a series of teleconference workshops that were developed by my friend Katie of Kelp Designs. The workshops were offered this spring and were well received and now fall session is in full swing.

This giveaway is for one of the six workshops that are offered, the Networking session. On Thursday, October 20th – Chandra Greer, of GREER, and I will give participants an inside look at what retailers and reps are looking for when roaming the trade show floor and will be answering your specific questions.

To enter the giveaway —

Leave a comment with a question that you have for us regarding trade show networking. That’s all! Good luck, winner will be announced on Monday, October 10th. As of today, there’s still time to sign up for the remaining four workshops, highly recommended for first time exhibitors.

book review and giveaway: today’s top stationery artists 2

September 26, 2011  /  Uncategorized

I was utterly ecstatic to hear that Tori Higa was releasing a new edition of her book, Today’s Top Stationery Artists this spring. Both books include biography’s and images from a lovely array of 52 stationers, but the new book also includes 16 in-depth interviews of some of the featured lines– what a treat!

Tori does an excellent job of selecting contributors and I was particularly pleased to see some C&C designers profiled again, including: 8mm Ideas, Ghost Academy, SusyJack* and Two Trick Pony.

Tori has been kind enough to offer one C&C reader a copy of Today’s Top Stationery Artists 2, she really is a gem!

stationery summer.

I’m ecstatic that Linda & Harriett have released a new collection of notepads! I got a glimpse of them in person at the Stationery Show and they are positively lovely. I bought a personalized chevron pad from L&H a while back and it’s still one of my favorite desk accouterments. Act now, these beauties are limited edition.

{“nerds are beautiful” set}

{vintage bow tie notecard set}

{sticker pack of very unusual girls}

{shine your light magnets}

I’m really loving the illustrative style of Little Red Fox. The “Nerds are Beautiful” bookmark and bookplate set first caught my eye and suddenly I realized her shop was filled with goodies that I covet. I particularly have my sights set on the trompe l’oeil polka bot bow tie tee. Wouldn’t it look smashing with some bright tights and a vintage blazer?

I’m brimming with excitement over the upcoming LOUIE awards! I’ve been selected to be a judge this year, amongst some highly esteemed people in the industry including Kate’s Paperie, Oh So Beautiful Paper and a host of other greats.

If the National Stationery Show is like Fashion Week for paperistas, than the LOUIE Awards can easily be compared to the Oscars of cards. Judging will take place during NYIGF and winners are announced during the Stationery Show on May 16th.

If you are a manufacturer that is interested in entering, click here – entry form and rules are at the bottom of the link. Looking forward to seeing some amazing entries!

{USB Typewriter}

Greetings from gorgeous Mexico! I hadn’t planned to post on vacation, but thought this find was simply irresistible. While catching up on Vanity Fair, poolside of course – I was completely captured by their brief feature on this USB typewriter modified for an iPad or any other device that uses a keyboard. Mucho gusto!

While I’m here, just a little reminder to enter the current ‘Gratitude Campaign’ giveaway – you have until Friday, December 3rd to post your entry.
