the paper cub co.

May 7, 2013  /  national stationery show, screen-printing, sneak peek

I’ve always had a particular soft spot for screen-printed goods, the color saturation and lovely texture are so pleasing. So, it goes without saying that I can’t wait to see The Paper Cub Co.’s complete line at NSS! If the aesthetic looks familiar, you may recognize elements of the line from their sister company, Sass & Peril. S&P has gone on to focus on gift and housewares, while The Paper Cub Co. is solely focused on cards and paper goods. Lucky for you, both lines will be on display at the Stationery Show in BOOTH No. 2169.

fancy this friday: cotton + flax

cotton & flax postcards

I’ve been a fan of Erin Dollar’s work since back in the day she was making beards here in Portland, Oregon. I recently discovered her newest project: Cotton & Flax, a modern mix of limited edition textiles and paper goods. I’m sad to report that you just missed out on the giveaway for these beauties above, but be sure to follow along with Cotton & Flax’s adventures, as I’m sure there will be another opportunity or you may just have to do a bit of shopping right this very moment.
I’m also quite pleased to introduce a new post category: FANCY THIS FRIDAY! In an effort to keep a better editorial calendar and blog more regularly in general, I thought this would be an excellent addition that I can easily keep up on. FANCY THIS FRIDAY will be all about showcasing some of my favorite finds, be it on the road in the shops I call on, via the many social media platforms I frequent or just those random “down the rabbit hole” internet gems that emerge. I’ll look forward to seeing you here next Friday, if not sooner. xo

{2012 national stationery show} sneak peek: two trick pony

May 18, 2012  /  national stationery show, screen-printing, sneak peek, two trick pony

Things are bustling in Two Trick Pony’s stable these days. The ponies have been hard at work with a brand new collection debuting at NSS in the C&C booth. Not only is there more to the bold, typographical series that you see above, they’re also releasing a gorgeous new holiday collection that is flat printed – making boxed sets quite budget friendly. I’m also quite excited about their new postcard collections and series of prints.
Gallop on over to Booth No. 3024 to take a gander.

May 10, 2011  /  national stationery show, screen-printing

An exciting first glimpse from Yellow Owl Workshop! I am totally wild about this new patterned thank you note set, the box includes 8 cards – two of each design. Yellow Owl Workshop is represented by Aesthetic Movement (booth no. 3550), which is where you’ll find the latest and greatest from them at NSS.

They are also offering a printmaking workshop and book signing at the West Elm on Broadway and 62nd on Saturday, May 14th. If you can’t make the event, be sure to check out Christine’s book: “Print Workshop: Hand-Printing Techniques + Truly Original Projects”.

For those looking to up the ante, Binth also offers a subscription to their ‘One-Of-A-Kind-Club’. I love this as a unique gift idea. Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the buyer at
The Desk Set in San Francisco. While perusing her lovely shop, I re-discovered my love for Two Trick Pony. I had seen some of their designs at Pulp in Los Angeles, earlier in the year and was really struck by the color combinations and unique designs. Take a peek in their etsy shop for more pony perfection.
