time lapse love from ghost academy

March 19, 2012  /  ghost academy, handmade

Our crazy talented friends at Ghost Academy just finished up this time lapse video that shows the process of carving and printing from a linoleum block. The majority of Ghost Academy’s card line is printed in this manner. It’s such a cool process, take a gander!

par avion: holiday goodness from ghost academy

September 23, 2010  /  block printing, ghost academy, holiday

It may seem a bit early to be featuring holiday stuff… Keep in mind, in my world of wholesale, holiday cards have been on the brain for months. And let me tell you, I’ve been keeping some dynamite designs under wraps. Lucky for you these gems from Ghost Academy arrived this week and there was no way in Jehovah I was going to not share the love. These block printed beauties are all original designs and handmade by the ghostly pair at the academy. Did I officially put you in the holiday spirit?

{shop} oakland: urban indigo

November 13, 2009  /  featured shop, ghost academy, oakland

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the owner of Urban Indigo at the LA Mart in July. I’m so glad that we crossed paths, as I wasn’t yet familiar with her lovely shop and was able to make a stop there in September. I immediately took note that they stocked goods from some great Oakland artists, I love that they concentrate on talent from the East Bay! While visting I couldn’t resist buying a ‘Time Flies’ necklace by Adjowah Brodie, it was quite clearly calling my name. The collection combines vintage watch faces with bird charms and are all unique, as the designer is using found objects. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on mine!

I’m looking forward to my next trip to the bay area, in January. I can’t wait to see Urban Indigo’s latest find. You will definitely want to check out their web store and blog!

la mart wrap up

August 5, 2009  /  cartolina cards, daylight wasting time, ghost academy, ink and paper, jezebel, oddball press, trade show

{crow and canary’s booth at the la mart temporary showrooms}

{gorgeous flower arrangement by the incomparable megan of ghost academy. seriously, could this lady be any more talented?}

{hammocks & high tea’s line of organic cotton and hemp tea towels and pillows}

{goodies from ink & paper, oddball press and jezebel}

{mulberry paper lamps by daylight wasting time and papergoods from cartolina}

Anyone that’s exhibited at a trade show or craft show understands the importance of good neighbors. I sincerely couldn’t have asked for better people to be surrounded by in Los Angeles!

Having a booth directly across from gogogear was a challenge. I’m a real sucker for luxury leather goods and I spent more time than I should admit debating over which bag I should make my very own. I settled on the above beauty and couldn’t be more pleased with my decision. This baby is a looker and has roller wheels. What more can girl ask for?

Julie and Shelby of Yesterday’s Best were very fun to chat with. Their line of hand-glittered nostalgic imagery cards are breathtaking in person. These ladies have over 500 cards in their collection, and claim that glitter has made its way onto nearly every object they own.

Leah of Pressed Ink, completely embodied the perfect booth neighbor. Pressed Ink is a modern line of paper goods, specializing in lovely monogrammed notecards and notepads. The line was recently featured in People magazine.

Michele and Suzie held down the fort at Xela Aroma. They had the sweetest smelling booth featuring reed diffusers and soy candles. Michele was the unofficial DJ for our aisle and I loved watching her channel Ellen DeGeneres’s with her awesome dance moves.

March 30, 2009  /  block printing, ghost academy, giveaway, new releases

Ghost Academy has a ton of new designs for spring! I’m totally in love with the new wooden gift tags above, they’re sold singly and as an uber cute set. I highly recomend Megan’s blog tutorial on block printing, for all you crafty types. While you’re at it, be sure to check out their award ribbons that have nearly achieved a cult following, they make an excellent gift. I only wish I could claim GA alumni status…

I have three Ghost Academy cards to giveaway to one lucky reader. Just take a brief moment to check out their newly re-designed website and come back to this posting to comment. I will randomly draw one winner on Friday, April 3rd.
